About BigCat
Berk McGowan started in photography way back in 1987 when he went to Hong Kong with his parents and bought a Minolta camera with his hard earned savings and was instantly hooked. He became initially interested in a photojournalism style of photography but pointed his camera at whatever he could see.
The world wide web eventually took hold and he jumped on board and learnt how to type the tricky bits of code that make up web pages. Mostly self and on-the-job taught he has developed sites for small backyard business through to large companies. With the ever growing nature of the web he is still learning even to this day and it never gets boring.
Seeing the world through the lens of a camera has been an exciting moment for Berk since the first time it happened and believes it will always be. He likes to tell the story as he sees it in each image that he produces. Based in Melbourne, Australia mainly but is happy to travel for interesting and varied opportunities.
